VivaCalleSJ is a free program that temporarily closes miles of San Jose streets to bring communities together to walk, bike, skate, play, and explore the city. Each year's event opens upwards of six miles of streets, through some of San Jose's most iconic neighborhoods for people to come out and play for the day! Layers of SJ had a bike wheel decorating activity in Paseo de los Pobladores at this event. People were invited to decorate a laser cut bike wheel disc with stickers of San Jose. Over 70 people participated actively and 100 passive participants (observers of the art creation process) on September 23, 2018.
